Honjozo
Honjozo sakes tend to be light-bodied and price-friendly. While not as aromatic as many ginjo labels, they offer easy drinking cup after cup. Brisk and clean served cold, but traditionally enjoyed warm.
Gekkeikan The Shot Honjozo 180ml
This is a honjozo sake that brings out the sweetness of the rice by adding more preparations to the Fushimi traditional “four-stage brewing” method that uses plenty of rice.
Hakkaisan Tokubetsu Honjozo Sake 720ml
A light-bodied and perfectly balanced sake brewed using spring water from the sacred Mount Hakkai. Smooth and fruity with slight yeastiness and noticeable alcohol. Versatile with food and pairs with most dishes.
Hakushika Honjozo Namachozo 300ml
A light-bodied sake with a cool and refreshing aroma and clean taste. Best with light dishes like salad, carpaccio, sashimi and sushi. Brewed using Miya-mizu water. Aged for a short period of time and pasteurized before bottling.
Hakushika Tokubetsu Honjozo Yamadanishiki 300ml
Made with premium “yamadanishiki” sake rice. A semi-dry sake, medium-bodied, smooth, fresh, and clean on the palate. Excellent pair with Japanese barbecued skewered dishes as beef and asparagus, chicken and peppers, yellow onions, tempura vegetables and udon, soba, and yakisoba noodles.
